Am I the only one who thinks the timing of this announcement from Design Within Reach is about as perfect as you can get? Just as foreclosure rates are skyrocketing, they have come up with a fashionable yet relatively inexpensive option. Marketing Genius.
I wonder if you could tow it behind an old V-dubs?
For the original, announcement see: http://www.dwr.com/images/newsletter/20070531_airstream/
Airstream: still very now.
Design Within Reach has teamed up with architect-designer Chris Dream to create our very own Airstream Travel Trailer. The design is true to the integrity of this iconic brand, while also featuring new materials to create a light and airy interior.
The Design Within Reach Airstream is now available. Kick the tires.
Design Within Reach have also come up with one of the greatest euphamisms of all time:
Satisfy your wanderlust = Live in your car
Words fail.

Oh my goodness... I love the Airstreams! It started when I was reading some design magazine a few years ago, showing how people were doing these amazing conversions in So. CA in order to have a home office or spare bedroom in lieu of expanding the bungalow.
Then, there are the new Airstreams that have come out...tres chic! I mean, who could resist the sleek design?

An old friend of mine (who sadly I lost touch with after her marriage), loved old Airstreams as well. Some people she knew up in Santa Barbara where she lives constructed a house that was built up around two of them and was designed to complement the stainless sleek exterior.
I agree that the design is a classic, but it seems weird for DWR to be featuring their own version, just as increasing number of people are being forced out of their homes.
And of course, the Casey-related timing is inescapable. Not that he could afford one.
I've always wanted to photograph an Airstream, but never have known anybody who had one available. There are lots of them here in Venice sitting at people's homes as conversions of one sort or another, so someday...

It is a little odd when you look at it from the mass foreclosure standpoint, but I have to admit, they did a nice job...blond wood, stainless, Nelson ball clock, recessed halogens....pretty sweet.

Hey, try this one, part of the inspiration for my original comment: Nature Girl. But then, I did read it on a 15 hour flight, so my mind was already warped at the time.
Somehow you struck me as the kind of person who would lure an unsuspecting telemarketer to a deserted island, just because he pissed you off...
Yes, if Honey Santana were real, I'd probably have dated her by now. Definitely would have dated Joey Perrone.

Funny, I thought about using that one. But chose the other, first for the title (a response to IAFF's resurgence) and second for the content...the element of 'quixotic outrage' brings to mind both the critics and CS himself tilting at windmills.

Casey can't possibly afford one.
Especially once Galina gets a judge to give her all his assets, including his click ad revenue.
